Each student shall identify a space in or around the Gatewood Studio Arts Building that will serve as the site for her/his design. The space shall be large enough to accommodate a space roughly around 10'x15' that will allow for a large enough reading area for 3-4 people. The "site" must have accessibility to faculty and students, at a minimum, but could also be accessible to guests.
Through both digital and physical media, students shall generate drawings, diagrams, models, photographs ti document their designs.
For my design I wanted something that was versatile, yet stationary. My project is on the glass art gallery wall in the Gatewood Studio Arts building. It consists of shelving and seating. Both are on the interior of the art gallery as well as the lobby side of the wall. The shelving slides up and down for convenient placement of items. The seating slides in and out so the user is able to sit on the lobby side, or the gallery side. Upon completion I was given ideas to better the design. For example, instead of putting slits in the glass for the seating, have the the glass stop where the seating starts and have them go across the whole panel, which would allow me to have a different material under the seating.
